Manage Your Bipolar with Online Therapy

While it is common for people to experience mood swings from time to time, bipolar disorder is much more severe. When someone has bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression) their mood shifts from periods of over-excitement and feeling like you're "on fire" (manic episodes) to periods of feeling severely depressed (depressive episodes).

During manic episodes, it's common to have a generally elevated mood, be highly active, experience higher self-esteem and need less sleep. This often alternates with depressive periods where you feel little joy in life, have problems sleeping, gain or lose weight and experience a loss of energy.

While this can be stressful and even debilitating, there is hope. Our therapy for bipolar is based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which has been shown in research studies to help people with bipolar disorder, often used in conjunction with medication. You see, it is your thoughts that affect your perception of the world, and with bipolar disorder, your brain tends to process information in an inaccurate and distorted way. With the help of your therapist, you will be able to identify and challenge these distorted and negative thought patterns that cause your stress and even harmful behavior. By identifying the situations that trigger your manic and depressive episodes, you will be more aware of when a mood shift is about to happen. And, eventually, you will be able to control your emotions and stress. By discovering new coping and behavioral skills, you will be able to stick to a treatment plan and live a more stable lifestyle, which will reduce the risks of a relapse.

"It is amazing. I am feeling and seeing progress already and I am on week 4 of my subscription. I would try it out if you are debating and reading reviews to see if it is worth it."

"I like this platform so far for many reasons.

I can do it on my phone from anywhere.
It involves a lot of writing which I’m comfortable with.
My therapist is very responsive and provides thoughtul replies that show she’s not a bot. I do worry about bots. Some of the repiles could have been produced by a bot and an LLM but most feel personal and attentive.

I’ve never done online therapy. This was a good experience. I don’t know if I would do it again, but I will let you know after I’ve met with my therapist.

"I have been using this service for a few weeks now and have found it very helpful. I've been having weekly sessions with Peggy and I am so grateful that I found her when I did, she has been unconditionally supportive during a very difficult time and has always been reassuring that she is just a message away when I need someone to talk things through with or just need some advice on anything. Thank you!"

"The sessions and the worksheets have been really helpful for me. The worksheets give me things to consider and really be thoughtful about, as well as keep me accountable so I don't just fall into the routine of "it's fine, it's fine" and then do nothing. And the sessions as follow up have been great for me to talk through things that came up from doing the worksheets. So there's kind of a pause-and-think, and then discuss-and-feel approach to the program that works well for me. It's only been a few weeks, but I appreciate what I've learned and am tuning into, even in this short time."
