Learn the facts

Each year, more than 40,000 people commit suicide. Sadly, these people will never know that symptoms that lead to suicide are treatable. Most times, the suicidal thoughts are temporary. Yet, death is something that is permanent.

Most people who feel suicidal believe that others do not care for them. Thus, it is vital that one shows care for the person suffering. Most people with PTSD do suffer from depression, but rarely do they attempt to take their life. Still, the aftereffects can be overwhelming and sometimes these thoughts will develop.

I want you to know that someone does care about you. If you are having depressive, symptoms don’t be afraid to ask for help.

A person who is willing to help you overcome suicidal thoughts will patiently listen and show concern. They should show kindness and understanding toward your feelings. Most suicidal thoughts that appear with PTSD patients tend to stem from pain and stress. Understand that your pain and stress can be eased with the right treatment.

To treat depression, a therapist will need to figure out what the problems are and get to the root of them. Once the problems are apparent it will be easy to work through them and eliminate them in time.

To get to the root of the problems we will consider some conflict meditation with a conflict resolution technique. Working the CBT training techniques can help you manage more effectively.

Most people who have experienced abuse in some form look at conflicts as destructive. They will either retaliate when threatened by conflicts or else they will find a way to get out of the situation by clamming up.

Learning when conflicts are destructive can help you see resolution options.

Destructive conflict overview

When a conflict develops and no conclusion is accomplished it is a destructive conflict. If the problem still exists, it is destructive.

When your energy is spent wastefully after a conflict then it is destructive

When you destroy others’ confidence in a conflict it is destructive

When the conflict encourages a negative self-concept it is destructive

When opinions are polarized and people become divided it is a destructive conflict

When a person becomes irresponsible from conflict it is destructive

Conflict is constructive when:

When everyone becomes involved in the conflict

When the conflict opens up discussion with others and results in clarification

When new ideas develop into solutions to solve problems

When the conflict serves to release anxiety, stress, or pent-up emotions

Cohesiveness or unification is achieved

Helps one grow and use knowledge to overcome future conflicts

To help you learn to cope with conflicts we will conduct some Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy – and reality therapy as well as transactional analysis otherwise known as REBT. It is an effective cognitive behavioral therapy.

REBT

This is one of the most humanistic CBT techniques used in treatment. It is also filled with action packed approaches. The approaches are designed to help you grow emotionally. You will learn about your abilities to create emotions, change them and learn how to overcome the past. You will also gain the power to use new solutions and implement them into dealing with your problems.

REBT is a therapy and set of approaches that help you to conquer the negative terms that you use in your daily life, which are the exact terms that will hinder you from succeeding if you don’t change the pattern of thinking.

The key to combating negative emotions is to realize:
You are responsible for your emotions and reactions
Irrational thinking emerges from destructive behaviors and emotions
You have the power to learn to think more realistically. You can practice affirmative actions and self-talk to achieve your goal. Make them a part of your emotional collection.
Develop reality based concepts or perceptions to help you combat negative emotions and live a richer life.
