Postby rebeccas4 » Tue Jun 22, 2010 7:01 pm

I am currently 18 and living at home .. however my mum and dad split up when i was 2 and ever since i have been travelling from house to house every week. Both my mum and dad remarried and i became very close with my step mum. About 5 months ago i found out that my dad has been having an afair and he is leaving my step mum and movnig away. This came as a massive shock for me and has affected me greatly. For the last 5 months i have had many symptoms of depression however i dont feel comfortable going to see a doctor about it. Does anyone have any advice on what i can do, and if i will ever get over this? thankyou

Is there any reason you can't stay in touch with your step mom? If you get along with her and are comftorable with her why lose the conection just because your dada is?

I am so sorry that you have so much going on in your life. I know that it can be really hard, I understand where you are coming from, My parents too are divorce and I had a step mom too. But it will get better and there is one thing that no one can ever take a way and that is the relationship you have with your step mother. You can continue to have that friendship. Are you upset with your father for what he has done? I am sure that I would be and if you can recognize that and know that its ok to be angry about it but evenutally you need to forgive him and not blame yourself. It is his action that he has to deal with. Keep your chin up hun and know that you are cared for . My prayers are with you hun.

Hi Dear,

I can understand your problem. There are times when life can be too rude to us and leave us totally shattered. But I am sanguine that you have a true spirit and a pure soul. Even if you can't hit on things directly, there's still an important thing that you can do. And that is... Please be positive, well-determined and realise your worth. You have been blessed with immense capabilities so that you can turn the tide.

Just remember one thing dear, if life shows you a hundred reasons to cry, then fight back with all might and show life that you have a million reasons to Smile.

With earnest prayers for your wellbeing...
