Feeling shy or nervous about holding a speech or a presentation, are feelings that most of us have experienced in life. But if you constantly fear other people's attention, always feel watched or judged and feel afraid that you will embarrass yourself, then you might be suffering from social anxiety.

People with social anxiety often do everything they can to avoid the situations that make them anxious. Just the thought of a fearful social event can give physical symptoms like tightness in the chest, pounding of the heart, blushing and dizziness.

Social anxiety can have tremendously negative effects on your life, making you miss out on work opportunities and even relationships with friends and partners.

Our therapy for social anxiety is based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). With the help of CBT, you will learn to identify and challenge the automatic negative thoughts that underlie your fear of certain social situations. This might sound intimidating at first, but the key to your well-being is to stop avoiding the social situations that you find fearful. With the guidance of your therapist, you will gradually be exposed to these social situations. By doing so, you will learn how to deal with your fear and eventually you will be able to handle previously fearful situations without anxiety, allowing you to participate in your life, as you are supposed to do!

"This app has many features to help make it through a rough time, the yoga I have been doing for years really helps to calm your nerves. It is also great exercise. Their is a calendar feature that if you don't already use a calendar can help plan out your time can help to get through and see that things improve with activity. As well as evidence based cognitive approaches and therapy."

"I am amazed at the quickness and sharpness of my therapist. She gets back to me quickly and always with insights and guidance and observations. It is a bit labor intensive with the worksheets and planning, but worth it!!!!!"

"I was not happy with the first therapist I was matched to as she was too busy and I felt I wasn't getting enough support. Then I read about Dr. Peter Sacco and switched over to him. The process was easy and he is really good at what he does! He listens and more importantly has the insight and experience to come up with solutions to my issues with procrastination and other issues. He has written books on these topics and has done extensive research and knows what he is doing. Highly recommend him for anybody struggling with professional or addiction issues!"

"Overall the services have been great.

I ended up switching therapists near the beginning and found my perfect match. I love that you can do that. I love that you can see people’s availability before switching to make sure they work with your schedule. My therapist is down to earth, acknowledges my experiences and feelings and then provides strategies or actionable tips to try to help me through it and it’s been exactly what I need.

As for the other aspects, I’m one of those people who loves worksheets, so all the worksheets they have you do were helpful. It also helped me feel like I could express what was going on so my therapist already knew and we could get to what I really need help with during our sessions.
