I approach people from a strengths-based perspective and believe that all human beings have a remarkable ability to change their patterns of thinking and way of being with others. Some clients come to me with a great deal of depression or hopelessness about their lives or relationships, without the insight as to how they can be helped. I listen to their stories to find the hope, possibilities, and resiliencies that coexist alongside suffering, insecurities, and darkness. That is, I recognize and work with both the light and dark angel that we all embody. Sessions are personalized to support the uniqueness of the self or of the relationship dynamics. We'll work on practical solutions and build skills to become your own lifelong counsellor.
I focus on a spectrum of relationship issues, including:
• Recovering after affairs or pornography addiction
• Blended Families
• Family Relationship Issues
• Separation and Divorce and Collaborative Law Divorce Coaching
Eating Problems or Eating Disorders:
Some ways psychological counselling can greatly improve short- and long-term health results are:
• Changing one’s relationship to food
• Improving body image
• Improving mental health symptoms that influence food choices and overeating
• Addressing eating disorders or disordered eating behaviours (e.g., restricting, binging) that may exist
Counselling for binge eating usually includes DBT - Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (specifically DBT for Eating Disorders).
I have a master's in clinical social work (counselling) and am a registered social worker.
