I have been working with international high schools counselling students and families in regards to life skills and navigating transitions, like starting college, determining career pathways, and identifying values and belief systems. I have also been counselling expat teachers regarding burnout, maintaining a healthy work-life balance, and interacting with coworkers in a professional manner. This has been very rewarding as I watch my clients change their mindset towards work and life, and start flourishing in their careers.
My counselling philosophy follows a humanistic model, where the counsellor has unconditional positive regard for their client, and thus the relationship can help clients discover more about themselves and realize their full potential. I incorporate DBT and CBT to facilitate real change in clients to live fulfilling lives. From role-plays, mindfulness, and narrative therapy, I am flexible to shape counselling towards individual needs. We are partners in discovering what is best for the client.
My specialty includes transitions. Transitions happen everyday in our lives, and if the transition is unexpected, like loss of a loved one, changing jobs or moving countries, the transition can be difficult to navigate. Through our work together, we will explore options and feelings and process the situation together, finding the best possible pathway to help you lead a satisfying and well-balanced life.
