👩‍⚕️Therapist Joys Thoughts on Therapeutic Treatment👩‍⚕️
We can all have a need for Therapy through different phases of our life. While we experience new situations and come across different people, it is natural for us to often feel a turmoil of thoughts and emotions, and many of these originate from our past experiences. If these remain unexpressed, left to fester or remain unresolved-it may lead to various physical, mental and emotional conditions.
Therapeutic Treatment is the process through which we understand ourselves better, and develop both practical useful skills to apply, and gain useful insights to help us understand and deal with the people, situations around us and personal limitations that cause us distress, in more skilled and effective ways. Treatment provides a safe place to unravel the turmoil within, with my help. A big part of how I practice and specialise as an Executive Relational Therapist, is that a lot of healing and building of skills and refinement of how you perceive and deal with life is actually done between you and me. It is especially helpful for those who are deeply traumatised, or those whom find trust difficult. As a Therapist, who is a professional in the science and artistic mental and emotional depth of psychology and metacognition, I listen sensitively, without you feeling inferior or small-we are both equals after all, and- I learn just as much from you, as you do me! I will help you discover healthy ways of thinking, feeling and dealing with all concerns you bring to our healing relationship. All I ask, is that we work as a team!


🌱Why I Chose to be a Therapist?🌱
I believe Therapy is an essential need for everyone and having experienced very, very difficult incidents at an early age in life which lasted far into my teenage years without an escape or refuge of safety myself, I appreciated it's importance even more. While I always had underlying interest in human behaviour and emotions, which stem from Psychology, Anatomy, Social Sciences, Environmental Science Philosophy, Chemistry, Medicine, Psychopharmacology, Chemistry, Interpersonal Studies, and Analysis of such in general (combined with my own Traumatic experiences and struggles) was what motivated me to choose to become a Therapist. I turn my own past pains into power, and sufferings into strengths for the benefit of others in this life, and will do so for as long as I live. This being said, I am thankful that while I NOT ONLY have the “book smarts”, I have the “ experience smarts” too, which help me and you to connect on a much, much deeper level than you would typically, with a standard Therapist. Some things you simply must go through, in order to understand them to their fullest capacity. Some things they don't teach in books. You must experience them in order to truly understand them, and that's a silver lining I can say I have taken from having a hard time in life. I couldn't imagine doing anything else, it just has to be therapeutic for others, and my life is the epitome of turning lemons thrown at me, into beautiful lemonade!

Looking back, things hit me really hard wherein I realised how we, even as children- are taught in school how to deal with physical injuries and pain…yet, when it comes to emotional injuries and pain, even adults are clueless and prefer to just dismiss them rather than give them the same attention as physical pain! I felt the need to look for help myself in my early teen years, and that was when I discovered that we do have professionals who can help us overcome emotional pain and struggles-

And that this form of pain (emotional pain) is as real…as physical pain! How relieving this was, that others besides me, acknowledged this very real truth!💡

🖤Concerns Close To My Heart
I believe that no emotional concern is too big or small, and these concerns may manifest themselves differently for different people and personalities. I feel a close connect with those trying to adjust to a new environment, are traumatised, anxious, feel neglected, are grieving and feel loss and grief, or are experiencing conflicts in relationships with family, friends…and particularly, themselves (with their own mind.)


🌸How I Handle Stress🌸
Stress I believe is inevitable, we must accept it as part of our existence in this world, nobody is immune, and everyone experiences varying degrees of it, some more than others. I like to identify what I am feeling, why I am feeling that way and then initiate a strategy to manage it accordingly. If I feel like escaping, I relieve myself by watching a movie, researching, or reading music, or socialising with friends. if I feel emotionally overwhelmed, I like taking a dip into the pool and enjoy a swim to let all my emotions flow along the water, if I feel bombarded by thoughts, I like to journal them down on paper or record them whilst speaking aloud. I like discovering new ways to deal with distress, and when I do not have any materialistic (Physical) resources at hand, I help myself with positive affirmations to change my mindset and mood to self regulate. That is something I can do anytime, anywhere, and it NEVER fails. Self talk is powerful.
Apart from that, I love to dance, act, and sing and listen and compose music on instruments. Also, I have a sense of humour that conflicts with my high intellect and deep intuition, which can take some by surprise, but when shared, gets the whole room in hysterics. Genuine, hearty laughter is medicine for the soul, and if I can gift it, I shall gift it- and I refuse to be silenced by those who try and smother my comedic expression. I have a high morale compass and degree of integrity which follows me 24/7, 365. I believe animals can be wonderfully healing also.

"A.J is at the top of her field. She knows exactly what she's doing, and why. We have continued Therapy off this platform too as there were even deeper issues to address, though the whole process with Therapist Joy has been exceptional. There will be ups and downs, like in anything we do in life. She's currently in hospital trying her best to still help people as I write this, which just goes to show her dedication even more. She doesn't have to, yet she does. I've been to SO many Therapists-and have finally found "The One" with Therapist Joy. :D
