Hi, I’m Raj I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.
I have worked in this field for over 12 years and have worked in the NHS and now private.
I started my career in mental health as a low intensity therapist for mild anxiety and depression in Walsall NHS I enjoyed the work so much that I went onto more group and project work around mental health to break down the stigma of mental health within the black minority ethnic community in Telford in the NHS, I enjoyed this a lot as it allowed me to inform not only the community about mental health and improve their engagement in the services but also the mental health trusts and local services on how to effectively engage with the BME community and also I created projects. Within this time my manager saw my potential to want to help people and offered me the opportunity to do the Post Graduate certificate in cognitive Behavioural therapy, which I happily took up and went onto successfully complete and become a full time CBT therapist in the NHS.
This then bought me onto doing this work privately as I wanted to offer a more holistic approach to therapy alongside using CBT as I have seen how sometimes CBT alongside holistic health can be much more positive for a client.
