I am a practicing Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I have an extensive background in Developmental Psychology, having taught Introductory and Human Development Psychology courses at various colleges as well as working with parents on parenting strategies. I am certified in Human Development and Family studies as well as having two Master’s degrees in Psychology, with an emphasis on both areas. I have channeled my many years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults into writing my first book which was published in the spring of 2015 which focuses on the restoration of family balance and the belief that by collaborating with the family and challenging maladaptive behaviors that promote dysfunctional family and parent/child dynamics, families may redefine the family narrative, the family script, and the personal narrative.
As a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, I understand the physiological changes that occur during and subsequent to substance use. I also subscribe to the belief that substance abuse is an illness and the behaviors and distortions in the individual’s thought processes are a manifestation of said illness. I specialize in narrative, cognitive behavioral therapies, and family therapy, and strategies that address whole person as it relates to substance treatment. In essence, I offer a holistic approach to wellness. Sobriety is a journey; let me collaborate with you on your journey to wellness.
