I am a graduate of Santa Clara University with a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology. I have worked for two community mental health agencies working with adult clients whom suffer from severe mental illness. I have worked for community mental health clinics that provide low fee services for couples, families, and adults. I have worked in schools as a school-based therapist for middle and high schools in my area. I have provided individual, couples, family, and group therapy. I love working with teens and adults. I use Psychodynamic Therapy, Family Systems, and Attachment Therapy as a foundation. I believe our issues stem from childhood experiences and generational patterns of family maladaptive behaviors. I focus on our relationship (client-therapist) and believe most change happens when this relationship is secure and safe. I aim to re-parent my clients so they can earn a secure attachment and learn how to respond rather than react when under stress. I want to be considered a witness and companion on a client's journey to self discovery and healing rather than an expert. I am also eclectic in that I borrow from many approaches to provide the highest quality of treatment for my clients. I do not believe one theory fits all clients. I enjoy working with people from cultures/races different than my own. I am educating myself continuously in order to see my implicit biases and challenge the gender and race dynamics I have experienced as a Caucasian, cis-female.
