Dr. Shlomit (Shelly) Shor

Hello, my name is Shlomit (Shelly) and I am a clinical social worker licensed in the state of Washington with over 12 years of experience working in the behavioral health field supporting people with mental illness issues and life challenges and transitions. Recently I have worked for 4 years as a therapist in a community based mental health clinic. I also have two recent years of experience as a clinical manager and a supervisor for clinical staff in our clinic. I have earned my Social Work doctorate degree in 2010.

I believe in personal agency and efficacy as the main agent of personal change and work individually with my clients on helping them find these strengths in them in order to provide relief, growth and empowerment. My philosophy is that true and long lasting changes are made available through the work in the clinic accompanied by further action outside of the therapy room.

I am working with a myriad of modalities, to name a few: Existential therapy, Solution focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, Motivational interviewing, humanistic therapy, Acceptance commitment therapy, psycho dynamic therapy. I facilitate the session in a collaborative manner which is recovery oriented, non judgmental and strength based, tailored to your needs and personality.

Last but not least I use a lot of humor in my sessions (and in my personal life) and utilize positive psychology as a baseline for all interactions.
