I am currently working for the Navy as a civilian social worker. After obtaining my MSW at Marywood University in Pennsylvania in 2007, I have spent most of my career working with Veterans, Active-Duty military and their families. I am fortunate to have had the chance to work with diverse groups of people throughout my career, and that has been the best educational opportunity of all for me.
In my practice I use CBT and DBT based skills, along with mindfulness, with my clients. What I enjoy most is helping people improve their interpersonal effectiveness so that they can build better connections with those around them. Whether it is setting goals to improve resiliency or develop better coping skills to handle daily stressors, it is always satisfying to feel that in some small way I am helping improve their outlook--even if it just for the day. Above all, I strive to be a kind therapist--I hope people leave their sessions with me feeling like someone was in their corner rooting for them.
