Andee Peters-Kurtz

I have been a social worker for 13 years. I graduated with my MSW from Boston College. I have years of experience in crisis counseling and helping people manage anxiety and depression. I have also worked in case management with foster children and foster parents.

I currently work at a great hospital in Boston, MA as a Social Work Supervisor for the psychiatric emergency room. Prior to this, I was the director of a mental health crisis team. I evaluated patients in mental health crisis in their homes and the emergency room.

I believe in active listening. There are occasions where you just want to vent to a friend, colleague, family member etc, and they talk over you or focus the situation back on them. I am not a fan of that! I offer advice only if requested. Other than that, please understand that I hear you and acknowledge your strengths and challenges.

I love dogs! I have 2 dogs, Brownie and Daisy. If ever you're struggling, I recommend getting a pet because they need your love and support as much as they love and support you. Animals are great coping skills!
