Are you facing challenges in your life and finding it difficult to overcome worry, feelings of depression and overwhelming anxiety? Do you face identity challenges that impact how you see yourself in context of the rest of the world or cause you to feel insecure? Are you struggling with the residual effects of past traumatic experiences? If you answered yes to any of these questions are you finding that it hasn’t been as simple as “pulling yourself together” when dealing with associated feelings and emotions? If so, the upswing is that counseling can help. Seeking help is the first important step in a process that I am confident will bring you closer to alleviating symptoms and increasing your ability to cope with stress inducing circumstances in your life.
I received my MSW from Simmons College and currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in the state Massachusetts. I have over eight years of clinical experience working with a range of adults including those who are struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, BPD, bipolar, PTSD, relationship issues, codependency, and race-based traumatic stress.
My work is client centered, strengths based and focuses on identifying triggers that lead to negative thinking and the impact those thoughts have on my client's emotions that result in less than desirable behavior. I draw from the following treatment modalities: Solutions-Focused Therapy (SFT); Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Humanistic Therapy and Exposure Therapy.
My goal is to assist you in developing coping skills that will allow you to move from problematic thought patterns that result in toxic emotions and unhealthy habits to healing and recovery.
