Hello there! I humbly thank you for taking the time read my invitation to you. I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist here in Oklahoma. I graduated with my Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology in 2000 from Southern Connecticut State University and I graduated from Southern Nazarene University with my Masters of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy in December of 2015.
I fell in love with Psychology with my first job out of undergrad working with people who were discharged from state hospitals. They needed much support and empathy and in fact this was where I learned that I had quite an empathic personality.
I completed my Graduate internship at an inpatient facility for persons with substance abuse and mental illness, and eating disorders. I facilitated groups and met individually with people. I loved helping people find their own voice and help them realize that they can recover in their own timing and that recovery is a process that is very personal and each person can still bring something to the table even though they have lost so much from their illness.
Today I work online with telemedicine platforms. I enjoy the work that I do with the people that I serve. If you choose to be one of them, we will work together to explore your relationships in life. It is our relationships with people, places, and things that affect who we are and how we feel and sometimes this everyday life can become burdensome as we tend to those relationships. Sometimes we may put ourselves last and this is when depressive feelings develop over time because our bodies are craving time to heal. Anxiety develops because we are wanting to break free and have our own time...but it doesn't last because we missed our steps and fell short...we moved too fast.
Together we can work within your process and in your timing. I can bring perspective but not answers because part of my work is to believe in you that you have the experience to know yourself. Through sharing your truth you will hear your voice and discover that you know more than you thought you did! As we use the tools that you and I develop together in your process you will begin to feel more balanced and grow within yourself and within your relationships with others.
So I invite and encourage you to give yourself quality time to enrich your life and your relationships; and give yourself your very best.
