My Experiences

I've worked in the foster care system, providing therapy to foster kids and families. I worked with the families to provide parenting skills and behavioral interventions. I worked with the children in various settings such as school, daycare, and in-home.

I have experience working with substance abuse clients (mainly juveniles). I provided CBT in an individual, group, and family setting during this time. I provided drug testing and weekly reports to the probation officers. I provided support to the clients and families in juvenile court.

I've worked in a community mental health clinic as the CHINS coordinator (child in need of supervision). This position is similar to the one above, except for drug testing. I provided therapy to children and adolescents in the program with ODD, Conduct Disorder, Anger Control Problems, and Runaway behaviors. Therapy was provided in various settings such as school, in-home, or court, depending on the need. I provided weekly reports to the Juvenile Court Judge and met with him quarterly. I provided crisis intervention in various settings during my time in this role.

I am currently running and operating a small private practice. I provide therapy to various clients with various mental health issues in my practice. I use a multimodal approach in therapy and am flexible to my client's needs.

My Therapy Philosophy

I believe that therapy can provide a space to solve problems and heal wounds. It can be a place of hope and new beginnings. A trusting, collaborative relationship with the right therapist can provide structure for people to build strengths, support, and resources and to discover solutions. It can also be a place to continue growing and learning more about yourself.
