About Me

I have been a self-employed psychotherapist for 30 years. I have worked with a wide range of problems and with all age groups. I have a speciality working with stress and anger management.
My work style is quality of life coaching.
My work has been a calling for me and I have received a lot of fulfillment in helping my clients.
In addition to stress and anger management, I have helped folks with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, Identity issues, low self-esteem, life transitions, relationship issues, marital problems, grief and loss, trauma, aging, medical issues, intimacy issues, making commitments, coming of age issues, assertiveness training, work related stress, separation and loss, relationship break-ups, college and employment adjustments and becoming independent.
I use a generic approach to helping people. This means using techniques from a variety of methods of practice including: Psychodynamic treatment, Cognitive Behavioral treatment, Stress Management, Mindfulness, Anger Management, Humanistic psychology, Interpersonal treatment, Play therapy, IFS, Assertiveness training, and Object Relations treatment, and Developmental treatment.
I have a lot of professional experience and enjoy the emotional and intellectual challenge that is part of quality treatment.
I received my primary training working at an outpatient mental health clinic that was part of a hospital. I worked there for 8 years and received my credentialing for self-employment there. I have had more than 10 years of clinical supervision and attend continuing education classes regularly.
I am part of an IFS group that offers classes on a regular basis.
I believe in the power of the Individual and the power of the Human Spirit. I believe everyone has a unique narrative which describes strengths in overcoming adversity.
I help my clients to connect the dots of their life and to see and build on their strengths. I encourage my clients to see what is in their heart and identify their values.

The requirements of filling out an in depth questionnaire before being able to schedule a meeting with someone and then having to do their sheets before setting a date was not ideal when needing to get something scheduled asap.
