Elizabeth Wallace
,LPC
I have 18 years of counseling experience.
I see individuals and couples experiencing trauma, relationship issues, addictions and anxiety.
I tailor my sessions to meet the goals of my clients. I use a blend of therapy models, with a strong emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (CBT). I am certified in EMDR for trauma work and Gottman Couples Therapy. My clients would agree that my sense of humor is a big part of my therapy! Also, my sessions are a cuss-friendly zone, if you like to use more "colorful" language.
I am very open- minded and open- hearted and work with clients of all sexualaties, genders, nationalities and relationship types. I always place an emphasis on building or regaining trust when working with all couples, whether they are practicing monogamy or polyamory. I have extensive experience working with couples post infidelity in a manner that is compassionate towards both partners.
When I work with individuals and couples struggling with addictions (alcohol/ drugs or behavioral addictions, such as sex and gambling), I treat them with respect and meet them where they are motivation-wise. If my clients work with a 12- step program, I can support their progress. I am also well-versed in alternative programs/ recovery modes to 12 step.
I am agnostic but have worked with people of all faiths, as well as atheists.
I graduated with honors from University of California, Santa Cruz with a BS in Psychology. I received my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, with extra coursework in addictions, from Lewis and Clark in Portland, Oregon.
