I am a seasoned Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois with varying social work experience.
I received my MSW from Loyola University Chicago in 2003 and then my LCSW in the state of Illinois in 2005.
I worked for several years as a medical social worker in hospital settings. My last hospital position was at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital. At Northwestern Medicine I worked as an ICU social worker and was also a social worker for the Palliative Care service.
As a new MSW graduate, I worked for Compsych, an organization that provides national EAP services. In that position I triaged calls from members who were seeking mental health services. Typically these members would be referred to therapists within the state where they lived. This position also required responding to members who were in a mental health crisis and assessing for the level of support that was needed.
I also worked for United Behavioral Health. In this position I would talk to treatment providers who were seeking authorization of care for their patients. I would review the clinical information offered by the treatment providers and provide authorization for care accordingly, sometimes consulting with the in house psychiatrist.
I also worked for Evanston Skokie Valley Senior Services, a community organization serving older adults. In this position I would provide counseling and other supportive services to older adults in their homes.
I retired from medical social work in December 2020.
In January 2022 I began as an Independent Contractor providing remote counseling for Talkspace.
I became interested in building my skills in CBT and have completed several online courses from The Beck Institute.
I enjoy working with individual, adult clients around the issues of anxiety and depression and tend to utilize a CBT approach in treatment.
