Felipe Sepulveda
,LCSW
For over a decade, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, strengthen their mental health, and build a sense of purpose that is both personal and sustainable. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State, my work combines clinical expertise with an unwavering belief in resilience and growth.
I have supported clients from many different backgrounds and experiences. While struggles may seem similar on the surface, every person’s journey is shaped by unique history, values, and goals. My role is to provide both a safe place to process and the tools to move forward — blending clinical skill with genuine human connection.
A Flexible, Client-Centered Approach
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. People arrive with different stories, strengths, and challenges, and my job is to meet them where they are. Together we create a plan that reflects not only symptoms, but also values and the kind of life you want to lead.
Whether you are managing anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, or uncertainty, I tailor our work so sessions are relevant and actionable. As you grow and circumstances shift, our focus may change too — a natural sign of progress.
Therapeutic Philosophy
I view therapy as both a safe harbor and a launching pad. As a harbor, it provides space to pause and heal without judgment. As a launching pad, it equips you with insight and strategies to step into the next chapter of your life with confidence.
My goal is not just to reduce distress but to help you build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and deepen self-understanding. This creates both immediate relief and long-term capacity to handle life’s challenges.
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, behavioral activation, and Stoic philosophy. The methods are evidence-based, but my style is always warm and practical.
Special Areas of Focus
Men’s Mental Health
I am passionate about creating spaces where men can explore emotions and relationships without stigma. Many have been taught to minimize struggles, which leads to stress or isolation. My work helps men develop emotional intelligence, manage pressure, and build stronger relationships with themselves and others.
Anxiety & Mood Disorders
Anxiety and depression can be overwhelming but are highly treatable. I help clients understand how these conditions develop and how to break their cycles. We focus on strategies that bring both relief and lasting change, so you can move from “getting through the day” to actively shaping your life.
Life Transitions & Identity
Major changes — career shifts, relocation, loss, or evolving priorities — can leave you feeling unmoored. I help clients approach these transitions as opportunities for growth, aligning choices with values and emerging stronger and more self-assured.
The Therapeutic Relationship
A strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of meaningful change. I see clients as the experts on their own lives and step in as a collaborator — offering perspective, clinical insight, and tools for action.
I engage actively in sessions, offering feedback, asking thought-provoking questions, and suggesting strategies you can practice between meetings. My approach is transparent — I explain the “why” behind methods and welcome feedback at every stage. The aim is for you to leave each session with something useful, whether a new perspective or a practical skill.
Why Clients Choose to Work With Me
Clients often describe my style as both compassionate and direct. I balance reflection with action: exploring deeper patterns while identifying concrete steps you can apply right away. Therapy can be short-term support in crisis or long-term growth work, and I adjust to your needs.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Progress doesn’t stop when a session ends. I provide clients with journaling prompts, mindfulness practices, readings, and personalized self-care strategies to bridge the gap between insight and action. I also develop resources focused on men’s mental health and resilience to extend the work we do together.
The First Step
Beginning therapy can feel both empowering and intimidating. In our first meetings, we clarify what brought you here, outline your goals, and set a pace that works for you. You provide the direction; I provide the guidance and tools.
Therapy is not about “fixing” you. You are not broken. It is about uncovering strengths, challenging barriers, and learning how to live with more clarity and purpose. Over the years I have witnessed clients transform their relationships with themselves, their work, and the world around them. That possibility is open to you as well.
