Dr. Ferdinand Madaki
,PhD, LMHC
I am an empathetic listener, and I subscribe to the core values of trust, respect, empathy, warmth, and genuineness, which have been shown to elicit insight, healing, change, and growth in clients. My culturally sensitive approach makes me aware and appreciative of the layers of difference among the multiculturally diverse populations I work with.
I am integrative in style and tailor each therapy session to the unique situations and needs of my clients. I apply the fundamental principles of the Person-centered humanistic orientation, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with whatever techniques I use. Following the lead and informed consent of clients, I also integrate spirituality, faith, and religion into therapy.
I use evidence-based approaches in my practice to help clients accomplish their existential goals, with sensitivity to their ecological and multicultural contexts. Clients will leave the sessions feeling heard, supported, affirmed, and provided with a safe environment to explore the incongruence between their values, belief systems, and behaviors.
