About Me

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. Also, a qualified Dyslexia Specialist with 13 years experience in schools, Colleges, and private practice.  Well qualified with a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a Postgraduate Diploma ( Masters L7) in Dyslexia.

My theoretical base is an integration between psychodynamic ( person- centred) and humanistic/ analytic/ CBT approach.  The skills I use are transference /Gestalt/ Person- Centred ( core conditions), interpretation ( helping connecting my clients & interpreting issues from their past).  I also employ experiential techniques i.e:exploring unfinished business, diary, etc. Additionally, making use of your resources and wisdom enhances the treatment process to build on what's healthy.

In previous employment I worked extensively with youngsters/ adolescents who were experiencing various issues: abuse, drugs, relationship issues. I was able to help them by using active listening, showing empathy, a warm acceptance that demonstrated care, endeavouring to communicate my experience to the students.

Working in an interactive manner allows me to treat a variety of issues and see adults/ children of all stages in life. Although therapy takes place primarily in the counselling room, I am able to connect with clients between sessions when extra support is needed.

"This platform is helping me take control of my own therapy by giving me a workbook to work through with my therapist. It fits my learning style and I prefer this platform to others I've used online for multiple years. Thank you guys!"

"Very pleased with the therapist I was assigned, she always responds quickly to my messages and gives me great and useful 'tasks' to do between our sessions. There's an option to change your therapist as well but I'm really pleased with the one assigned to me. The worksheets are very useful as well and really make you think about stuff you normally wouldn't think about. So far so good :)"

"The worksheets are very insightful! The feedback on your worksheets is a great resource. I found the layout easy to navigate and the calls with a therapist helpful. I think it is important to note that it is still up to you to use it. There are not many prompts and it can feel like a low pressure commitment - other than the payment. So you may want to set additional reminders to schedule appointments or set time to work on the worksheets. But the resources are clearly laid out and very well made."
