Dr. Heather Davis

I have been in the field working as a therapist for approximately 24-years. I have worked at all levels of care, for both mental health and substance abuse. Since 2011, I have been teaching in higher education and creating the new generation of therapists! I have a bachelors in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, a masters degree in marriage and family therapy from Seton Hill University, and a PhD in Psychology from Capella University. I am licensed in the state of PA as a professional counselor (LPC). I am also a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor (CAADC), a substance abuse professional (SAP), and practice EMDR.

I started my solo private practice in 2013. I offer family, couples, and individual therapy, and also have a Suboxone program with group therapy and urine screenings. In therapy, I assist my clients in not only creating their goals but also in achieving them. This is achieved by providing support, guidance, tips for success, etc. My therapeutic approach is laid back and flexible. For theory, I lean on systems, solution-focused, and CBT.

In addition to my private practice, I am currently the Vice President of Operations/Chief Operating Officer for Belmont College in St. Clairsville, Ohio. I have been at the college for about 15 years. I was a professor and department chair for 11 years before transitioning to administration. First as the Dean of Academic Affairs, then as the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer, to my current position overseeing all things outside of academics.
