My experience in the mental health field spans many years and several life seasons. As I have progressed through life I have developed an increasing tool box from which I help client's create more peace and harmony in their lives. My perspective of my work has evolved from fault finding with a person, family, or system to navigating the journey to self-discovering who one is. I am of the belief that most human challenges come from not knowing and not loving one's self. I see my work as an extension of my client's self-discovery process.
In my work with clients, I utilize a strengths based focused. Helping clients identify where they have successfully managed life to meet their expectations gives them a powerful foundation from which to address any current difficulties.
I have found CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Coaching, and when necessary, a comprehensive familial history assessment have created an effective environment for change.
Incorporating Mindfulness techniques, Breathwork, and Meditation with clients has also produced positive changes in client's lives.
Which combination of approaches I utilize in therapy depends upon the client need and comfort level.
