I have extensive training and experience in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I believe in helping people live better lives. I like working with clients who are looking for a change, no matter their background or condition. For the past 15 years, I have been working with individuals, couples, and families helping with substance misuse disorder, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and thoughts disorders.
I graduated from the San Francisco State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Counseling. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco.
Individual Counseling
For individual psychotherapy, I choose a developmental approach, prioritizing clients’ needs and goals and empowering people to work towards goals while managing their internal and external obstacles.
Couples Counseling
Often couples are in trouble because partners are working towards two different goals or they feel that they are no longer getting the support they need in the relationship. My approach is helping couples to identify their needs and learn to express them. I guide couples on how to set boundaries in the relationship so both individuals can develop a healthy partnership.
Family and Parenting
Raising children can be rewarding and difficult at the same time, especially if the child needs additional support. My approach is mostly behavioral and working on self-care through boundaries and setting realistic expectations.
