I am so incredibly passionate about supporting others on their mental health journeys! I tell people all the time how I am one of the rare people who actually gets to do what she loves as a career! I work predominantly with females/femmes and believe in "girl power" as a basis for empowerment and strength, whether healing from trauma, building self-esteem, struggling in relationships, etc. While my approach is eclectic, I'd say I lean most heavily into CBT and Positive Psychology. I often give "homework," which may be to engage in some sort of self-care activity, to identify their cognitive distortions, to have a scary conversation with a loved one, or to establish a new set of boundaries (just to name a few). I feel, and believe my clients would agree, that I present with them as real and down-to-earth, which fosters a comfortable, non-judgmental space.

Although I am a white cis straight female, I very much value justice and equality/equity, and am a strong ally to the LGBTQ+ population, both personally and professionally. Life in the US right now can feel heavy and scary and overwhelming, and I am up front with my clients about my political stance (liberal) to ensure they feel comfortable to process their fears and experiences in society. Sadly this is often coupled with religious trauma and/or family conflict/estrangement, which are also common areas of focus in our work together.

I have been a clinician since 2003 and knew from a very young age that this is what I wanted to do (shout out to Dr. Jason Seaver from the TV show Growing Pains!). Drawing from personal experience through my own years in therapy, I believe this helps me connect and build empathy with a wide array of clients. I opened my practice in 2015, and have been strictly virtual since 2020. This allows me to have flexibility in my schedule, and the opportunity to contract with other agencies, which I love!
