Personal therapy and counselling in general is the skilled and principled use of a collaborative relationship. My experience of counselling is a healing and organic process that occurs when a counsellor and client come together to bring about change and to develop a therapeutic relationship. The counselling relationship can be a place for clients to recognise how they are feeling, and explore any past, present and possibly future issues they might have.
I work as an integrative therapist taking from a variety of modalities tailoring my approach to my clients needs. I have training in the emotional freedom technique, compassion focused therapy, eye movement desensitisation reprocessing, mindfulness and working with couples.
I have worked in private practice, as a course director for therapy in a local university, a national clinical lead, a therapy services manager at a psychiatric hospital and I’m a published author. I work in a trauma informed way and have experience working with a variety of issues.
