Jennifer Jackson

Welcome! My name is Jen Jackson. I graduated from SUNY Geneseo in Geneseo New York is a Bachelor's degree is Psychology in December 2013. I graduated from Binghamton University with a Master's Degree in Social Work in December 2017. I became provisionally licensed in New York State with an LMSW in February 2018. I began working in an alternative school, providing therapy to middle school age children and running DBT skills groups once a week in each classroom. I did that until October 2018, when I decided I wanted to work in a more clinical setting. I began working for a mental health clinic in New York. I was contracted with schools and provided school-based therapy through the mental health clinic. I completed clinical assessments, diagnosing, treatment plans, and discharge planning, as well as weekly therapy and sometimes family therapy. I did this for 3 years, until I moved to North Carolina. I got my LCSWA provisional license in North Carolina in September 2021. Unfortunately, when I switched states I had to "start over", so I held my provisional licensure for 5 years total between the two states. When I moved, I started working as an Intensive In-Home Team Lead, providing intensive therapy services to high-risk children in their homes along with their families, and completing assessments, treatment plans, and discharge planning. I did this for a year, and decided I wanted to begin working with adults to broaden my skills. I became a Team Lead for Community Support Team, which works with high-risk adults in their homes to provide mental health therapy and complete assessments, treatment plans, and discharge planning. I provided individual, couples, and family counseling in this setting. In the Team Lead roles, I also supervise case managers who worked underneath me to assist the clients I work with. I am interested in focusing back on the clinical role and providing outpatient therapy, focusing my efforts into therapy and making working with clients my priority again.
