Joni Fowler

My goal is to help people learn to help themselves by providing support, psychoeducation, CBT and solution based therapy, while validating their feelings and thoughts without judgment. I believe most all people have the capacity to learn and flourish within their environment when provided the right tools, resources, and insight. My career spans 36 years to include acute inpatient psychiatric hospitals, geriatric care, adolescent and adult clients as well as intellectually disabled populations.

I was fortunate to be the Team Leader for the Oklahoma Department of mental health and substance abuse services, PACT TEAM. This is a home based program serving populations with schizoaffective, schizoaffective disorder and bipolar disorders with psychotic features. This service allowed the opportunity to meet clients where they are in their own environment and without judgment. My career also allowed the opportunity for psycho pharmacology education as I worked side-by-side with the Hospital psychiatrist. I have been blessed with great mentors over the years and would greatly appreciate an opportunity to share my experience within your platform.

Having been off one year allowed me time for reflection. In that time I found pieces missing within myself. I came to realize what was missing is the blessing of the work we do. There is no greater reward than guiding people to a healthy productive lifestyle.
