I have a masters in clinical mental health counseling and have been practicing for over twelve years. My career started in community mental health where I worked with children and their parents ages three and up. From there I managed a program in the juvenile detention center where I liasoned with the court and built a counseling program to aid the juveniles both in detention and involved with the court in other ways. I have also spent time as a therapist in schools and now in private practice. I have been in my own private practice for the past 2+ years and have added other therapists to the group, and enjoying being able to help them learn and grow in the field. I still see clients and enjoy working with those going through big changes, stressful events, anxiety and relationship issues. I have developed (and am continuing to develop) a niche in helping parents of divorce coparent better and work with their children to process the changes and dynamics of their new situation. My therapeutic approach pulls a lot of from CBT but I believe each client needs something different and take some time to understand their needs and adjust as appropriate.
