I have over 20 years experience as a psychologist. I have worked int private practice, outpatient therapy, and inpatient therapy. I tend to have a very practical and positive approach to therapy. I have great respect for my clients and assist them through various approaches, depending on their needs. I tend to focus on CBT and Mindfulness. CBT because it is the thoughts that create the depression or anxiety. Mindfulness helps clients not live in the past (which creates depression) or live in the future (which creates anxiety). Clients learn instead to live in the present through Mindfulness. Also, to do this requires an attitude of Forgiveness. I use Forgiveness treatment that follows the approach of Dr. Fred Luskin who heads up the Stanford Forgiveness Project. This project teaches the concept without involving any religious context. Therefore I find my clients to be open to this approach. I believe Forgiveness in therapy is absolutely essential when treating couples. I also do a lot of therapy with couples as well as individuals.
