About Me

I completed my Master’s degree in Professional Counseling in 2010 and became fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2015. I worked in the non-profit, community mental health sector for the first 10 years of my career and for the last several years of that was the Clinical Director. I was working with people with severe persistent mental illness providing Psychoeducational services and supervising two clinical programs with a clinical staff of about 12-15 counselors. I began also working in telehealth private practice in 2016 and building my practice, leaving the agency to pursue it full-time in October 2020. I obtained my Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor license in SC, Licensed Addiction Counselor in SC, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in KS, Licensed Professional Counselor in GA, and a telehealth registration to provide services in FL over these years as well. I am currently working on a Doctorate in Psychology to be completed around 2026.

My approach to therapy is person-centered as I believe that you know you better than I know you. You should have a lot of input into your needs in therapy. It’s a collaborative process! I use a lot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to consider how your thought processes are working or not working for you and learn how to change them around to be more helpful. I like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy a lot as we will discuss values and how they can be more aligned to help in your life with self-esteem and self-actualization. ACT is also about learning to accept who and where you are without judgment of yourself. I like Brief Solution-Focused Therapy as I’m goal-oriented and like to have concrete tools for you to implement into life. Additionally I believe strongly in Positive Psychology and the power of gratitude to rewire your brain in positive ways.
