I am an independently licensed as Licensed Professional Counselor In Alabama, Vermont, and South Carolina. I have a strong passion for advocacy work in which I have a special interest in working with minorities and the LGBTQIA+ community to overcome the emotional trauma of inequality. I am CAMS trained to assist in managing suicidal risk an adaptable CBT-based paradigm to assist those in crisis.
I am a graduate of the accredited Training for Adoption Competency and have earned the C.A.S.E. Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) certificate. The one-year post-masters program is specialized training to work with the distinctive challenges of the adoption process for adoptees, their kinship network, and the potential adoptive parents.
My philosophy for helping is integrative and is proven to be the most effective in improving client outcomes. I am a faith-based practitioner who is particularly respectful of a client's spiritual belief; as spirituality is important in the healing process. I provide an eclectic trauma-informed approach that ranges from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to Person-Centered Therapy.
I believe that healing does not occur linearly and the pace of healing depends on the person. I am patient, understanding, and honest, and aim to help the person to the best of my ability and within the scope of my education.
