About Me

Hey there, I'm Lisa Mazzotti, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Addiction Professional in Florida. I've got a solid educational background, first scoring my Bachelor’s in Psychology at the University of Illinois and then following up with a Master’s in Human Development Counseling.

When it comes to treatment, I'm all about meeting you where you're comfortable and tailoring things to suit your goals. Looking forward to teaming up with you.

In my 25 years of practice, I've worked with a wide range of folks, from adolescents to geriatrics, in various settings – be it one-on-one, family, couple, or group sessions. I've got extensive experience handling issues like anxiety, panic disorders, PTSD, self-harm behaviors, depression, OCD, grief, abuse (both victims and perpetrators), and eating disorders. And let's not forget about addictions – I'm well-versed in both physical (think substances like heroin and methamphetamine) and psychological addictions. For the latter, it's all about activities that light up our brain's pleasure center, creating a loop that's hard to break.

I've also spent a good decade teaching Psychology and Sociology courses at colleges in Illinois, including some in prison settings. And when it comes to clinical approaches, I'm all about finding what works for you – whether it's Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or any of the other methods I'm trained in.

I'm proud to be a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors (IAAOC).

In terms of languages, it's English all the way. And if you're interested in credentials, I hold LPC.0015321 in Colorado, LMHC 12675 in Florida, and ADL-007682-2015 for addiction.

So, if you're dealing with addictions, family conflicts, trauma, or intimacy-related issues – or any of the other areas I've listed – I'm here to help. We can connect through video, phone, live chat, or messaging. Looking forward to working with you!
