My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. As no two people are the same, I use an eclectic approach, meaning that I use the approach that best suits your needs. I provide a neutral and safe space for you to share your feelings and concerns and work colaberately with you to engage in the change process and reach your goals. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and create change to be where you want to be in your life.
As an MSW graduate, I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. As part of my commitment to continued education, I also recently completed the Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training, Mental Health First Aid course, LivingWorks Start Suicide Prevention Training and the Attachment and Trauma certificate.
Over the past 14 years, I have built a career in social work throughout different roles where I supported adults, children and youth struggling with mental health issues, who have experienced trauma and/or are suffering from addictions. Throughout this time, I gained in-depth knowledge and experience in completing psychosocial and risk assessments and developing safety plans. I developed a strengths-based, client-centred and solution-focused approach. I gained experience providing Solution-focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I also have experience providing attachment-based interventions and with Family Systems Theory.
I am a trained Triple P practitioner (multiple levels), a form of behavioural family intervention based on learning principles that draws on cognitive behaviour therapy. I have delivered both individual and group programs.
