Maria Hollo
,LPC
I am a counselor with strong values that guide my practice, the main value is respect. I honor the diversity in my clients. I help clients to achieve their goals and improve their lives by utilizing client centered care, prioritizing empathy, empowerment, and building a strong therapeutic alliance.
I also think it is important to create a safe space where clients feel heard and understood by attentively listening to their experiences and validating their emotions. I have been working with clients from different backgrounds, and I have helped clients to identify meaningful goals that align with their values and aspirations, ensuring they are actively involved in the therapeutic process.
I strive to practice therapy in a holistic and culturally competent way. I aim to take a validating, and straightforward approach with my clients. I also like to teach strategies based on evidence-based practices, such as mindfulness techniques, cognitive restructuring, and communication skills, to manage challenges and promote positive change.
I like to approach my clients with empathy and understanding. Overall, my goal is to help and be a supportive guide for my clients as they work towards their personal growth and challenges within a safe therapeutic environment.

"This is my second attempt at therapy, and I never thought I'd give it another shot. Initially, I questioned how talking about my past could help—after all, nothing can change what's already happened. My first therapist felt more like a friend to vent to, and I figured I could do that for free.

But after just two sessions with Maria Hollo, I've gained more insight than I did in four months with my previous therapist. I always believed in-person sessions were superior for building a connection, but I've realized that doesn't have to be the case. Talking to someone virtually can be just as effective, and the convenience of not having to leave home is a huge bonus.
The online resources available—like worksheets, videos, and the Dashboard—are incredibly helpful. Maria even reaches out during the week, making me feel supported around the clock. It's reassuring to know that help is always just a message away.
Having this level of support is comforting. It's nice to feel like someone truly cares."
