Michele Jenkins
,LCSW
I feel incredibly fortunate to be trusted with my clients’ struggles and to be a part of their journey toward growth and healing. As a highly sensitive and empathetic person, I create a space where clients feel truly understood and supported. My goal is to help them break free from self-defeating patterns and move toward lasting change.
I take a relational and humanistic approach, blending psychodynamic principles with practical, evidence-based techniques. I use motivational interviewing and a strengths-based perspective to help clients gain insight and confidence in their ability to change. When working with teens, I often incorporate psychoeducational tools from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and for those struggling with high anxiety, phobias, or obsessive-compulsive tendencies, I integrate exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP).
I specialize in working with highly sensitive individuals, particularly women navigating the complexities of perimenopause. My deep understanding of sensory processing sensitivity and hormonal shifts allows me to guide clients through the emotional and physical challenges they face with compassion and practical strategies.
My background includes working on the psychiatric floor of a major hospital and over a decade in an outpatient mental health center, giving me extensive experience with a wide range of mental health challenges. I’m skilled at assessing issues thoroughly and tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs. My experience in elementary and high schools has also strengthened my ability to connect with and support younger generations.
