Nicole Carrita
,LPC
I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of pennsylvania with over 14 years of mental health experience. Before the pandemic, I started working with children and adolescents. However, since the pandemic, I have graciously dusted off the dust on my books to work with adults. While I still prefer working with children and adolescents, I do enjoy working with mothers. As an single woman myself, I understand the daily struggles of juggling molding children into little humans, working, managing a home, paying bills, and somehow finding time in the midst for taking care of yourself. I use a caring and compassionate approach. I use dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy and am in the process of becoming eye movement desensitization reprocessing certified. I have a substantial amount of experience working with children and adolescents with autism. Though, I do not subscribe to the applied behavior analysis program. I do enjoy working with individuals with eating disorders also. I subscribe to medication management and work great with other providers to ensure continuity of care is provided in the best way possible. I enjoy working with domestic violence and am an activist against stigma in the mental health community.
When beginning therapy with me, I would appreciate being told what you would like to achieve from therapy. Clients who are successful with me, are motivated, self-referred, and ready to do the work to achieve success and happiness. While I can not promise to fix or resolve all of your problems, I can walk the journey with you to healing.
Please note I do not work with court ordered clients. If you need an evaluation completed for court, I am not the appropriate provider. I can, and am willing to, however, work with clients who do have legal involvement if that is not your primary reason for treatment.
If you are down on life and feel impacted by the global pandemic and recent events of the world, I am you go to therapist. I come with over 20 years in public service ad helping the community. I look forward to meeting you.
Please note that clients who are most successful and have the best outcomes in their mental health, are those that are open to feedback, open to the process, do not expect immediate results, and work with the therapist, rather than against the therapist.
