Peggy Bishop
,MBACP, PGDip Couns, BSc(Hons)
Hello!
My name is Peggy Bishop. I am a dedicated, passionate, and highly qualified integrative counsellor. I am passionate about helping people to be able to help themselves.
I offer a safe environment for you to be able to express yourself without being judged. Somewhere that you are accepted and celebrated for who you are. A place where together we can explore emotions and any difficulties you may be experiencing and discover coping strategies that work for you.
I have a specialist interest in working with LGBTQIA+ children, young people and adults. I have a deep understanding of the issues and problems that the LGBTQIA+ community are affected by. I want to help give a voice to those in the community, a chance to be heard and to know that you have a safe place of which you can do so.
I am warm, caring and nonjudgmental. I can offer you a safe place where you can speak openly and freely without the worry of being judged or not being heard. I am adept and efficient with a compassionate understanding of a wide range of client needs. I believe strongly in confidentiality and building therapeutic connection.
As an integrative counsellor, I use a range of therapeutic techniques and approaches, such as person centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, systemic family therapy, and creative therapies, just to name a few.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists), working within their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I also hold full indemnity insurance, registered with the Information Commission Office (ICO) and have an updated enhanced DBS. My working experience ranges from owning my own private practice, a counsellor for a children’s mental health charity, a schoolteacher and a nursery nurse.
I have knowledge and experience of working in many areas including LGBTQIA+, emotional support, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, abuse, bereavement, bullying, low self-esteem, obsessive compulsive disorder, self-harm, suicide awareness, and self-care.
I look forward to working with you!

"This service is unbelievably helpful; the therapists are kind, patient and willing to donate time and energy. You get to go at your pace and decide how much or how little you want to talk, you’re never judged, it’s invaluable"

"I would recommend this service to anyone. My therapist has been kind and considerate and never made me feel like I can't share. At the same time there's no pressure and she has enabled to deal with situations effectively. From dealing with anxiety to how to process others in my life. You can take your time and choose to share the level of deal you want. You don't ever feel judged, only supported no matter the issues spoken about. Some people find services like this as negative, but I also share when days as positive so we can find the route to creating less negative days. Highly recommended."

"Online therapy has helped me considerably with my thoughts and emotions. My therapist has been great at enabling me to feeling my emotions and ask me questions to assist in that process. I’ve never felt pressured into sharing information and she has taken time with me as I’ve opened up. I recommend the service to anyone no matter what you need to discuss. Sometimes we just need that little extra support system and that’s okay."

"I have been using this service for a few weeks now and have found it very helpful. I've been having weekly sessions with Peggy and I am so grateful that I found her when I did, she has been unconditionally supportive during a very difficult time and has always been reassuring that she is just a message away when I need someone to talk things through with or just need some advice on anything. Thank you!"
