Sandra Ramsey

I have an MA degree in Counseling Psychology. My specialty and my license are in Marriage and Family therapy. That encompasses a broad spectrum of issues which includes addictions, parenting, domestic violence, anger and communication. When working with individuals and couples (including gay, straight, trans) I specialize not only in helping with communication but also with intimacy and sexuality.

Communication in relationships and families can be critical to understanding the issues and unraveling the conflicts. I teach techniques that help make communication clear for all members of the family. Clear communication helps parents and their children do less arguing and have a more peaceful home.

When adults are sexually active there are many times when the needs and desires of one or both of the partners is unfulfilled. Using the communication skills that the couple learns is very helpful in explaining what one partner wants from the other. Learning about expectations and values helps identify what each person is expecting and how to respectfully ask for it.
