As a seasoned multicultural counselor with a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and a Professional Counselor license, my background is rooted in a rich Multiracial Latino/Hispanic heritage. Before mental health, I gained insights from working in the court system, understanding the vital role of mental health services for individuals facing diverse challenges. My experience spans working with Severely Persistent Mental Illnesses (SPMI) and behavioral issues within specialized court programs. In my role as a Program Manager in a Mental Health Court program, I specialized in trauma and family counseling, particularly focusing on adolescents who had experienced trauma. Extending my expertise to private settings, I've served a diverse clientele. Trained in EMDR for trauma counseling and certified as an MRT provider for substance abuse-related concerns, I emphasize multicultural approaches as a proud Latino/Hispanic/Bilingual mental health professional. In therapy, I prioritize understanding unique needs, crafting personalized action plans, and employing a holistic perspective. Using EMDR and MRT, I explore underlying causes and recognize the value of support networks through a systems approach.
