I choose this profession because I value people. I see each person as a unique individual with their own perspectives and beliefs. Cognitive Behavioral Theory is the foundation of my therapy approach. I help clients identify their thoughts and beliefs that correlate with their emotions, behaviors, and decisions. I teach clients about cognitive distortions and how to challenge their unhealthy and unhelpful thought patterns. I help clients develop a stronger sense of self by teaching personal boundaries and assertive communication. I enjoy encouraging a client in their Christian faith if it is appropriate for that client. Because of my shared faith, I see all people as loved and lovable and bring this belief to every session. Personally, I practice CBT, think self care is important, exercise routinely, eat clean and build relationships with family and friends. I encourage balance and serenity for my clients because of my life philosophy. Therefore, I bring a holistic approach by assessing my client's mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
