Shaylynn Hayes-Raymond
,MA, LCT-C
I have been a mental health advocate and author for the past decade and I am the Director of the International Misophonia Foundation. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I have personally struggled with mental health as well as misophonia for many years, and I take my own experiences as well as evidence-based practice into account for psychotherapy. As a psychotherapist my goal is to work with my clients with a person-centred approach and meet them where they are. I subscribe to several modalities, but personally believe in an eclectic approach as each client has a different set of needs and differing worldviews. I am open to clients of all faiths and am personally a spiritual person who does not judge any one set of beliefs. I provide a safe place for clients to explore their world views, trauma, and provide psychoeducation and coping skills where appropriate. I have been published on Psychology Today, The Mighty, Thought Catalog, and have written and published books such as Misophonia Matters, and Full of Sound and Fury (among others).
