Steven Geisler

I received my Master's in Social Work in 2009 and my Bachelor's in 2000. I have been a social worker / Therapist for 22 years now. Populations I have worked with are Severally Mentally Ill, Drug and Porn Addictions, Teens with mental health issues, Teen and Adult sex offenders, Couples therapy, and my primary employment for the past 15 years has been as a Hospice Social Worker, with working as a part time therapist. The therapy modifies that I use and have been training in are ACT, CBD, DBT, Solution Based, Reality Therapy, and Trauma (Certified in Body Keeps Score. I enjoy working with couples, individuals, and teens. I am very caring but can still challenge beliefs with finding the best solutions to resolve concerns. Trauma is often the root concerns around most mental health concerns. During my years of practice, I have seen this in most of the people I have worked with and helped resolve concerns. My approach with trauma is through Dr. Bessel van der Kolk method of working to change the brain wiring that created the maladaptive behaviors through understanding how the body has responded to the trauma. Through this approach most of the clients I have worked with have been able to resolve the concerns.
