Let me know what you think!

In this tutorial, I slowly guide you through Sun Salutation A - Surya Namaskar A!

Flowing through Sun Salutation A is a great way to quickly energize you. It includes forward folds and backbends that strengthen and stretch all of the major muscles in your body.

In this tutorial, I show you a slow and gentle version of Sun Salutation A. However, it can be done at any pace to suit your mood and energy level. It’s all about doing what feels good for your body, in this moment! I recommend that you take the time to learn to do this sequence of movements on your own. Do a round of two to five Sun Salutation As and practice them as a separate mini-flow or include them as a warm-up during a longer yoga session.

When doing this sequence, your number one focus should be on your breathing. This involves breathing in and out through your nose, synchronizing every pose and movement with the breathing to make this sequence a kind of “moving meditation”.

Some of the great benefits of this sequence:

1. Warms-up your whole body

It’s a perfect yoga sequence, since it strengthens and stretches your whole body.

2. Moving meditation

When done consciously and deliberately, synchronizing every movement with your breathing, you truly are practicing “moving meditation”.

3. Great happiness-tool that can be used anytime or anywhere

This sequence is great as a quick break, if you need to shift focus from your cluttered mind and into your body. You really don’t need any yoga cloths, a yoga mat or props to do this sequence. It can be done anywhere you are; at home, at the office or outdoors. Remember, if you’re in the park and anyone is looking - it’s just that they are inspired by you!

Sending you love, happiness and ease!
