If you are in an anxious, stressed, panic mode and only have a few minutes to break this negative cycle, then this is a great yoga class for you. This 15-minute class will help you cope with your depression and anxiety by calming down your mind and body. You don’t need any prior experience practicing yoga to be able to do this class. The only thing you need is comfortable clothes and two cushions.

This class starts with a breathing exercise, where I will guide you to breathe in for four counts and breathe out for eight counts. When you’re in a stressed mode, your sympathetic nervous system is activated - the fight-and-flight mode. By keeping your exhalation longer than your inhalation, you will literally fool your body into a relaxed state, by instead activating the parasympathetic part of your nervous system - the rest-and-digest mode.

After this breathing exercise, I will continue to guide you through soft, relaxed and supported versions of the child’s pose, seated forward fold, supine spinal twist and finally supta baddha konasana. All of the poses are chosen for their ability to instantly calm your mind and body down.
